Exp 2 Final Submission!

Experiment 2 Submission post

The Aggregated Axonometric I chose to work with was:

The three detailed textures I chose to place on the model were:

Here are the first three images of my monuments and the interaction between them and my created landscape:

The last two pictures are close-ups of each monument and with each there is a passage provided explaining my concepts:
Mies van der Rohe

For the monument in recognition of Mies van der Rohe the key concept behind my regime was that details can be monumental. I combined this idea with my own interpretation of his architectural style (specifically his larger works, IBM Plaza for example). I created a large vertical work of multiple columns which are not only detailed by a complex texture but also a external interweaving skeleton of thin rods. This heavily stylized physical representation of his work is how I chose to engage with Mies van der Rohe on an architectural level.
Remment Koolhaas
For the second monument I chose to create it drawing inspiration from monumental architecture in the past and focusing on how Rem used exterior shapes to relate to interior spaces. I experimented with the boundaries between the interior and exterior and how certain shapes can emphasise or dissolve this border. It is through this that I finalized on this design.

*Due to crashes and other complications I'm still unable to recover my Mies van der Rohe monument or the staircase I created. Please let me know if this is unacceptable and I will try to fix it.
